HBO have confirmed that their most successful show Game of Thrones will end in season 8.
It will be over soon. It’s official. Following speculation that Game Of Thrones was coming to an end, HBO have finally confirmed the show will indeed end after series eight.
While we kind of all knew that already, the network hadn’t officially commented on the rumours that showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss wanted to wrap things up in just two seasons time.
The epic saga which saw over 10 million viewers tuning in every week during the just concluded season 6, has gripped its numerous fans in a tight ball and they are simply overjoyed to be in its hypnotic grasp for a long time.
But that's no longer the case.
Weiss and Benioff previously revealed to the publication that they wanted to end the show at 73 hours with seven episodes in 2017, followed by a final eighth season running for 6 episodes.
The seventh season will be the shortest season ever with only seven episodes, and is due to start airing in the summer of 2017.
